Get Reacquainted with Old Friends and Meet New and explore the beauty these places have to offer.

 Capilano Suspension Bridge - https://www.capbridge.com/

Native Vancouverite Nancy Stibbard purchased Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in 1983 and has spearheaded the attraction’s development and phenomenal success over the past 30 years. Nancy’s commitment to exceeding guest expectations and her vision to ‘create experiences people are amazed by’ guide every aspect of her businesses.

Nancy’s initial success came from retail, reworking the merchandise mix at Capilano Trading Post to include more Canadian-made products and upscale brands. She opened new stores in BC and Alberta, then purchased and rebuilt two luxury accommodation properties in the Canadian Rockies – Moraine Lake Lodge (1991) and Cathedral Mountain Lodge (2002).  In 2014, Nancy added Stanley Park Pavilion and Prospect Point Cafe and Gift Shop to the Capilano Group portfolio. The Prospect Point property will be renovated in a way that enhances its function and its history, while the Pavilion has recently been restored to its former glory.

Capilano Group is founded on the values of Safety, Show and Stewardship. Guest and team member safety is paramount and factors into all decision making. Nancy’s belief in a seamless guest experience, the show, is accomplished by commitment to theme, attention to detail and extensive team training. Stewardship is demonstrated with environmental management plans, community relations activities and involvement in the tourism industry.

Nancy is recognized as a person whose business acumen and ability to work to consensus generates results – the reason why she has served in an executive capacity on every significant tourism organization in BC and Canada. In September 2007, she was inducted into Canada’s Tourism Hall of Fame.

Grouse Mountain

About Grouse Mountain Just 15 minutes from downtown, Vancouver's premier attraction offers the perfect destination for a truly rewarding and memorable experience. With a variety of cultural, educational and outdoor adventures to choose from, we look forward to helping you plan your next visit.

Grouse Mountain is located on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples: the Squamish, Musqueaum, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. We value the opportunity to live, work, and share experiences on their ancestral territories.

The Story of Grouse Mountain Grouse Mountain was named by the first recorded hikers to reach the summit in October 1894. In those days, climbing Grouse Mountain was a three or four day epic journey - there was no bridge across Burrard Inlet and no road to the base. The hardy group of hikers slogged through snow, scrambled over rock and up through the dense forest. Along the way, they hunted a Blue Grouse and honoured the plentiful game bird by calling the Peak "Grouse Mountain".

Soon after this first ascent, Grouse Mountain began attracting hundreds of intrepid hikers. Among these were Don and Phyllis Munday who built the first log cabin on the mountain. Today, the Munday Alpine Snowshoe Park bears their name in honour of their contributions to mountaineering
