This lecture will briefly cover the basics of sleep apnea diagnosis, including the role of imaging techniques and portable sleep monitors.
Attendees will understand the patient-centered approaches and P4 strategies with deeper focus on evaluating treatment efficacy and effectiveness. This session will enable attendees to personalize their patients’ sleep apnea treatment.

Bio: Dr. Almeida has devoted her career to treatment and research of snoring and sleep apnea patients. As an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Dr. Almeida leads oral appliance research and the treatment of patients and have received several world recognition awards.
She is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Canadian Sleep Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the American Thoracic Society. She is also board certified by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and main author of the Guidelines on Oral Appliance Treatment for Sleep Apnea designed for the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Canada.
